Do you spend long hours standing, sitting, traveling, or are you expecting a baby?
Prolonged periods of standing or sitting can cause blood to pool in your ankles, putting constant pressure on your veins. Over time, this can lead to ankle swelling, varicose or “spider” veins, and increase your risk of blood clots (venous thrombosis).
How Compression Stockings Help:
Graduated compression stockings improve blood circulation by applying the highest pressure at the ankle and gradually decreasing pressure up the leg. This gentle, consistent compression helps push blood back toward the heart, reducing swelling, preventing spider veins, and lowering the risk of blood clots.
Professional Fitting & Options:
Our pharmacists are trained and certified in compression stocking fitting to ensure you get the right size and pressure level for your needs.
- Low-pressure compression stockings (15–20 mmHg) do not require a prescription and can be purchased in-store based on your shoe size.
- Medium to high-pressure compression stockings (20–40 mmHg) require a doctor’s prescription. A personalized fitting will be performed by one of our pharmacists to ensure proper fit and effectiveness.
We also offer custom-made compression stockings, tailored to your measurements with a variety of fabrics and colors to choose from.
Coverage Information:
Compression stockings are not covered by Pharmacare but may be eligible for reimbursement under many third-party insurance plans.
